Chief Pathologist Testifies In Koro Ceesay’s Murder Trial

Dr Abdoulie Badjan, Chief Pathologist at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, yesterday testified in the murder trial of the late Ousman Koro Ceesay, involving the former junta member Yankuba Touray before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of the Banjul High Court.

The Chief Pathologist has confirmed a postmortem report of the murdered Finance Minister [Koro Ceesay], which he said was from the record files in his department at the country’s main referral hospital. He said the late Dr Oldfield, a retired Pathologist was the author of the report and signed it.

A. M Yusuf, the State Counsel then applied to tender the report and there was no objection from the defense. The court subsequently, admitted the report.

The case was adjourned to 21 May, 2020 for the prosecution to call the last witness in the trial.

It could be recall that the defence counsel, Abdoulie Sissoho who had on the last adjourned date announced his withdrawal of his representation for Yankuba Touray is still representing him. He did not file a notice of withdrawal as directed by the judge.

Meanwhile, the former junta member is charged with multiple criminal charges including the murder of the country’s  former Finance Minister (Koro Ceesay), if found guilty he might spend the rest of his life in jail unless he is pardon.
