Member for Brikama South Constituency, Honourable Lamin J Sanneh has on Thursday, told Parliament that the territorial integrity of The Gambia has been compromised to Senegal.
Speaking at the debate on State of the Nation Address SoNA delivered by President Barrow recently, the Brikama South Lawmaker lamented on the encroachment of the country’s land borders at Darsilami Village in the West Coast Region.
“The territorial integrity of this country has been compromised,” said Honourable Lamin J Sanneh, Brikama South NAM.
Honourable Sanneh expressed disappointment at President Barrow who failed to address the problems at the land borders but instead focused his address on the sea.
“I have been crying over this matter which is very threatening right now,” Hon Sanneh lamented.
He added: “Our country has been seriously encroached.”
The Darsilami Border has been reportedly encroached by the Senegalese side of the border whose soldiers would cross the border to entered the Gambian territory.
There are reports of oil deposit at Darsilami Village in the Kombo Central District.
