The Gambia Police Force GPF in partnership with Paradise Foundation and UNFPA have on Thursday, trained 40 police officers on Sexual and Gender Based Violence SGBV held at Paradise Suite Hotel in Kololi.
The training attracts police officers within Banjul, Kanifing Municipality and West Coast Police Regions respectively. It follows the launching of Police/PF GBV Project, supported by UNFPA and held in Bansang CRR last week that is centered on Adequate Investigation, Evidence Gathering and Laws & Provisions on SGBV.
Participants were drawn from Units within the GPF crucial in the fight against SGBV such as the Gender and Child Welfare Unit, CID, Charge Office and Prosecution Department.
Meanwhile, the opening ceremony was attended by Police Chief of Administration AIG Ebrima Bah, The Executive Director of Paradise Foundation Madam Aisha Baldeh, Commissioner of Police Banjul Region Lala Camara who doubles as the Chairperson of the Police Female Network, as well as ACP Sowe of Kanifing Region among others.
